"We are experiencing now the fires of the future." - CAL FIRE Chief Ken Pimlott.

wilder-than-wild movie poster- words over flamesOn Saturday, July 20th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. the Fort Bragg Library presents a free screening of Wilder Than Wild: Fire, Forests and the Future, a documentary by filmmaker Kevin White. Wilder Than Wild” takes us on a journey from the Rim Fire of 2013 to the wine country wildfires of 2017. Along the way, we learn how the proactive use of prescribed fire can reduce reliance on reactive fire suppression and we meet stakeholder groups working with scientists and resource managers to build consensus on how to restore and manage the lands we love and depend on.”

Following a screening of this powerful documentary, we will be joined by a panel of local firefighters and neighborhood organizers to discuss what we can all do to help prevent wildland fires in our area.
