Fratello Marionettes to Perform at Library Branches

Post Date:11/22/2019 9:30 AM

Mendocino County Library is pleased to present an encore performance of the popular Fratello Marionettes at each of library branches in December. To the delight of children and adults, the Fratello Marionettes will be performing either The North Pole Review! or Peter and the Wolf at each library branch. The performances feature hand-crafted marionettes, skilled puppetry and music, and time for questions for the puppeteers to answer after each performance. Fort Bragg’s Branch Librarian Dan Hess says, “Fratello Marionette shows are full of humor and beauty--sometimes classic, sometimes crazy! Kids laugh out loud and cheer for the puppets on their strings.”

Get into the holiday spirit with The North Pole Review! This music-based production showcases the graceful ice skater Crystal Chandelier, the high-kicking antics of the Russian Trepak Dancers, and a trio of dazzling acrobatic penguins.

The production of Peter and the Wolf is set to a digital recording of the majestic Prokofiev score, designed to introduce children to classical music and the individual instruments with an orchestra. Visit the forest home of Peter and his grandfather, listen to the debate between the bird and the duck, and see how the hunters capture the wolf.
