Kids Literacy Kits for Checkout
The Mendocino County Library is excited to announce the introduction of a new resource in our children’s collection: Kid’s Literacy Kits! Kid’s Literacy Kits are a collection of books and activities with a central theme that will help you create significant learning experiences with your child. With kit themes such as farms, trains, robots, bugs, friends, music and more, you and your little ones are guaranteed to find a kit to take home and enjoy.
Each kit comes complete with several pictures books, interactive toys, laminated song sheet, and either a thematic music CD or DVD. These items can be used by caregivers to create learning experiences or story times at home or on the go! These kits have been developed to create early literacy skills in young children, which will help build a foundation for life-long reading skills and encourage reading as a fun leisure time activity.
Several branches of the Mendocino County Library will have their own selection of Kid’s Literacy Kits. Kits can be checked out and returned to your local branch.
For more information, please contact your local library branch or the Mendocino County Library at (707) 234-2873.
