Great Shake Out

Next date: Thursday, October 15, 2026 | 10:10 AM to 11:00 AM

A three-part graphic of what to do in an earthquake. The first panel shows a person dropping to the floor, the next shows the person protecting his neck and head while crawling under the table, the last shows the person under the table, holding of to a table leg. The panels are labeled, Drop!, Cover!, Hold On!
The Round Valley Branch Library will participate in the Great ShakeOut earthquake preparedness drill at 10:15 a.m. local time. During this exercise, staff and patrons will practice the recommended safety actions to improve readiness in the event of an earthquake. Following the drill, from 10:20 to 11:00 a.m., library staff will be available to assist community members with downloading and registering for the MyShake earthquake early‑warning application. We encourage all patrons to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their personal preparedness and stay informed about local emergency notifications.
